    780 info

Hi Troops, new to the forums and only posted once before. Felt like a tool as I asked basic questions and was told to look at the forum rules. I have a contact for a 780, but I am hearing of ?10 month payments on top. Are they not just plug and play? go easy guys

Tell the contact to ~~~~ right off. Dont deal with anyone charging a monthly fee other than Virmin.

If you have a laptop you will require a usb to serial adaptor and a Null Modem Cable

            STB Editor
            Software

Then quite a bit of reading to get it all working together.

Lifespan of the 780 should be a good few years. The server may not last that long though.

Should the server go down is it easy enough for another to be set up and would the box stillbe usable?

Yes after being reflashed. The address of the server is built into the flash.

I love to laugh my head off at these rumours because nobody knows what the future holds and until I see it on Dr Who I won't believe it....however a mate of mine who delivers food for a chinese takeaway spoke to a geezer the other night who knows someone in the SAS who is doing a little private job blowing up the starview server so who knows maybe the kryptview one is next? I fully expect by the time I go up the pub tonight that someone up there will be telling me we have declared war on the kryptview manufacturers and that 5 brigades of marines set sale from Plymouth harbour at dawn hahahahahahahahahahahaha.......giddyup
