    its after you scan correct id plug in lan and reboot box and router.you download firmware to box as uploading you are trying to do a channel dump

      Must work both ways m8 as i done what i said in my post and it worked first time........
      Should i have done what you said tho? or is it o.k to do what i done.....i.e talkback to virmin network?

        you don't need to be connected to router when scanning...
        but at the same time, wont do any harm either...

        also worth mentioning.
        if you have your bb through vermin
        then your cable feed will come in and be split to your tv and modem.
        if you only are paying vermin bb and not paying a tv sub then sometimes the signal can weak

        it is advisable to disconnect splitter and connect cable feed direct to your box.
        then connect splitter back up after scanning....
        this way you shouldnt be missing channels (assuming correct id is selected)
