no i only have pretty new laptops. i do have an old virgin box but it isnt mine i bought it from my mate. he lives round the corner so the net id mite be ok. with my new laptops ( both on windows 7) i would need the usb convertor wouldnt i?

trouble with adaptors as sometimes they dont work,and more involved in setting it up like needing drivers etc.

yeah i know. thats 1 of the reasons why i wouldnt mind someone in the tyne and wear area sorting it for me. just dont think i'm competent enough with computers to set it up. i understand how to update tho once box is flashed. i think!

Windows 7 finds the driver itself, you just have to change the baud rate and port in the device settings. I always change the port to number 1 so I dont need to put the specs on when using the stb editor.

yeah i think i,m picking it up. havnt boubght the box yet just been reading this site for hrs! so when ive downloaded loader, then flashed with 2505210, let it load up, box reboots. sorted. then LAN from router to KV box, old VM feed into box, scart into telly ect and i,m done? any help is greatly appriciated. 36 hrs ago this was a foreign language to me!!

p.s. is the websie my cable box trustworthy?

get 1 there good but you need a computer with a serial port to acept a null modem cable also download the latest firmware 03/01/2011 and your up and running
