Is Kryptview_A780_09092010.bin the firmware file?

hi can somebody help, im new to all this.. ive downloaded this file Kryptview_A780_09092010.bin is this the firmware you install to the Kryptview box (eg is this firmware)?

btw if so is it the latest?

plz if anybody knows, would truelly appreciate it because i am just about to purchase the Kryptview A780

Yes it's correct firmware. After flashing to box connect to net.
Go to S/W update in menu & hit OK. This will download any
updates to firmware. Then in auto-scan select your area and
scan for channels

BTW just been reading posts ppl sent yesterday during footy, they said the channels went off... was tht only on kryptview or did tht happn on starview box too?

As far as I know STVU boxes did not go down KVU did. A
post on another forum states it was a host problem & not
a server issue. I don't think anyone really cares whether it's
server or host issue, they just want to watch TV.
Am not a fan of STVU but recent KVU performance has not
been as good as their previous boxes. I think in the long run
you will get a better service from KVU boxes. You could hold
off for a week or two & follow posts on both boxes & then
make up your own mind. The higher price of KVU can not be
justified if it's not more reliable than STVU

I use a DM500-s on sattellite. There is no server set up for
KVU or STVU cable boxes in EIRE

The Kryptvu A790t has a twin tuner, cable & terrestrial, so it
should work in Eire. Because there is no server set up for cable
or terrestrial in Eire the box won't work.
