A780 nOOb question

Hi there ppl,

Want to get either a A780 or a starview 7, look around on here it looks like the A780 is a better box??

how does it work really, i understand all the guide and the installation of it but how does it run after??

is it like the starview through a LAN cable???

I live in west brom do these boxes still work in this area because i know that the starview 6 still does????

thanks for the reply, so i would need to plug in teh LAN cable and the cable connection?? if you know what i mean, like the starview

yes m8, you need both connections all the time...

and one last question do teh A750 and A780 look the same because everytime i try to find a image it brings up the A750 model, plus are they both the same to install the firmware??

the 750 has no lan connection and you need the iconnect adapter to hook up to lan,the 780 has it built in,both boxes have their own firmware all in downloads above.yes same setup but different files used.

ok great, im getting there now , would i need a 9pin serial to lan port then or has it already got one??

no,
on the a750 the iconnecter does that, on the a780 lan and seriel pot are built in

Interesting thread, but which one is better and why ?? Thinking about getting one, and do they support HD ?

the a780 is the newer model of the two.
the a750 + i connector = a780....

you could say the a780 superceeds the a750.

so go for the a780 if buying new, but a750 +i-connector works just as well as a780.
