Someone on the forum suggested this. My question is WHY? I am thinking of buying an A780 and I know if it lasts three months I would have got my money's worth but could someone explain what might prevent this box from eventually working? Won't there be a new image released?

Everyone I have ever asked a question on this forum has been helpful.
Well done - you are the first that hasn't. If there was a prize for being useless, you'd get it.
And I thought "VIP" member implied something positive.Comment

I think if you read between the lines nobody knows. The server could switch off tomorrow but then they would not sell any more boxes.
My own reading between the lines sees the box lasting as long as they are selling. As of now they are selling out within days of coming into the country, probably to accomodate all the different boxes that were being used before. (probably over 15 different types as well as the CC boxes).
Dont forget every one thought they were going to have to pay sky high prices for tv when n3 came on the scene. Both Sly and Vermin took advantage with price increases. Many have entered into 12 month contracts and many more have now got VM broadband to keep their feed alive and provide the necessary internet connection.
Dont take it the wrong way with JJ's remark because he, I and anyone else on here doesn't know. We all live in hope.
I wish I could give a better answer but I dont have a crystal ball, only two ordinary ones in my sack.Comment

What most people are quick to forget is many of them have had several years of almost free TV.
So even if they buy a Kryptview and it goes tits up after a few weeks or even months they will still be quids in compared to paying full subs for several years previous, I know I certainly will be.
If history with the old cable scene is any thing to go by the earlier you get in the longer it will last TBH cause once it starts to reach saturation point with the amount of freeloaders the cable companies will be forced to upgrade the encription again and it will just keep going round and round.Comment

He has a point though m8. If "someone" suggested it then who better to answer the question than that someone. ;-)
There are 3 main reasons why a server would stop.
1. Owner decides to stop. ( for whatever reason)
2. Provider finds server/s and disables them.
3. Provider makes changes to their card, making them unreadable.Comment
