    Kryptview 780

    Hi

Got this box yesterday and after some difficulty and is now working great

I put on the firmware 180610 straight away using null modem cable ( let the sofware loader complete fully before pressing close). However when i went to to turn on there kryptview there was no display via scart. there was only a small green dot on the front panel & the remote control was totally unresponsive.

I heard you had to do a factory reboot but i did not know how to do this. I thought maybe i had damaged the box.
the next day i tried connecting the box to the pc. again the box was unresponsive with a green dot showing on the display. eventually i turned the box on & off several times whilst trying to connect with the software. all of a sudden the box connected to the pc and started download firmware. the displaying showing 0000.

I don't understand how this worked as on the instructions for downloading firmware it stated that you had to press the red button on the remote twice then the standby power button ot initiate the download.

I wonder if anybody knows why this happened?

anyway a big thx to the guys on this forum for the firmware & info

Had Itgate tgm 220 before and it was good while it lasted & a shame about the way ended

However with this box i actually get a few more channels and program software is a bit better...so far so good

i think maybe a bad flash you got as to my memory box reboots after it flashes, maybe you exited before this happened.
downloading firmware by null modem cable you dont use remote only the keyboard from pc and box switch at rear only

Red twice then standby was from the first Kryptview. When it was discovered that powering on after hitting start did the trick this became the norm and certainly the most reliable.

Vista is not the best os for a usb to serial adaptor. Did the adaptor come with a disc?

No you can download the drivers. Vista and windows 7 should sort them out, when you plug the adaptor in it should self install. As long as it does you may just have to change the setting slightly.

you can download the driver here m8 then just go into your control pannel and change the com port.
