    stuttering and freezing

    hi peeps.

is anyone having trouble with stuttering/freezing movie channels? i have done the update and a rescan and most of the channels are fine except movies. i have checked connections and there fine and i have made sure there are no ip address conflicts, plus the internet is fine. i also added a signal booster aswell so now my signal is 75 instead of 60. but i still get the same stuttering and every so offend i get the scrambled or no video logo.

    thanx.

    p.s

also had problems before the update and kerrang channel is missing

when you did the factory reset did you delete 0000,then power off box at rear for 30 secs then on,have you got the 31122010 update in box, coaxial from main feed no splitters and lan removed, scan away in provider and netid, when finished scanning insert lan and reboot box and router
when he mentioned 60 i was wondering if its just bb he has

          movies stuttering freezing

i am having the same problem with movies freezing/stuttering

does doing a factory reset result in the loss of firmware that is installed

I installed the firmware then also did a software update when box on line

I left the lan cable connected when scanning for channels...does this cause issues & should i not have installed the lan

The channels all seem to have scanned in fine and automatically organised in categories. I the movies were working fine up until the last couple of hours (wolverhampton area)

            stuttering problem too! need help?

I too have the same problems with channels stuttering but my box is new to me and don't really have enough info about it yet to know how to fix it?

is this a common problem and does it have an easy fix??

p.s. im a newbee, be nice.

            thank you

The most common problem that causes freezing is a weak signal and the most common cause of a weak signal is poor or damaged coax connections.

I've had five boxes and two modems running off one split feed without any problems other than an occassional freeze on odd channels. Main Sports and Movie channels dont have any problems.

after you update firmware you have to factory reset 0000 to delete channel info only, power off at back for 30 secs, remove lan and scan from direct feed only, choose correct provider and net id,when channels are loaded plug lan in and reboot box and router

people forget about bad connections on cables and splitter problems

Several posts today re freezing so it may be a temporary server issue. It may be just that a lot of new boxes came on stream over
Christmas & server may have to add extra input to cope with
                  increased demand.
ANT, I would not be happy with signal of 75%, because that may
dip at peak viewing times. Anyone with weak signal should check all cables & connections are OK. If not paying TV subs
should consider doing so to receive stable signal. Downloading
on PC while using box also causes freezing. Always make sure
                  latest firmware is on box

All leads and connections are tratec ones provided by my cable company with fixed ends and are in new condition, the cables are not stretched or twisted in any way and connected tightly. My box takes a a cable feed directly from a 2 way splitter. Is it possible that ic could be the lan cables as these are not as high a quality and condition as the coax cables??

As I said above, Ant, maybe temporary server issue. You should
check signal levels on freezing channs, see has it dropped

                            All my channels have signal strength between 77 & 82 with a quality between 65 & 85
