    Kryptview A780 Timer function

    Hi,

I am trying to get the Kryptview A780 timer function working, I have tried going in to menu-> UserPref->Timer function and setting a timer to switch the box on to a certain channel at one time and switch it off at another time. Unfortunately the box switches on and off at the right time but does not Switch channel. Why doesn't this work?
Do i need a more recent SW update i currently have
    the september firmware.

    Thanks

as far as i am aware it can only record the channel that is been viewed, but wait for more feedback to be sure.last update out was on the 03012011 always best to keep up.

Iff your wanting to set for channel changing you need to do it from the epg. When the programme you want is highlighted press the red button (Reservation).

        Kryptview Timer function

I tried reserving the probram on the EPG using the red button
but that only pops up a mesage when the program is about to start saying whether you want to view it or not and required you to press the OK button and hence will not auto change.
I wonder if the user interface software all included in the one bin file that you download to it or if there are separate bits of software?
I wonder if the latest sw release has a fix for the timer function as it is quite a good function if it worked properly including changing channel, as the timer channel setting is already there in the timer function menu. Thus the facillity has been implemented but just not working properly by the look of it.

I think reciever needs to be on standby only for this function to work
hopefully later software might fix this anoying bug

            kryptview update

            Just one question,

I am going to update the software on the box.
I believe you select SW update from one of the menu options
and the latest update is downloaded over the internet straight to the box. When the update is complete and the box reboot it self do you have to reset to default setting and rescan all your channels again?
Wouldn't the new update work without resetting or rescanning the channels?

            Thanks!

yes any time firmware is updated its best to reset, power off at back for 30 secs then on,remove lan and scan from direct feed, when channels loaded, insert lan and reboot box and router.

                kryptview update

Do you have to remove the lan connection when you do an update?
Do i have to delete all the channel before re scanning
                to avoid duplicate channels?

Only remove LAN when scanning. Fac reset is sufficient before
                  you scan

                    kryptview update

I updated the krypview S/W yesterday i then removed the lan cable and reset to defaults and did an auto scan. When auto scan is selected the default settings are:
                    Network provider = NTL
                    Scan type = Network
The scan type selections include Free, scramble, All or network and i was unsure whether to choose All or network so i stuck with the default setting of Network and proceeded with the scan. After the scan was complete i found that the channel number of some channels had incremented by one.
Is this because it has picked up an extra channel?
Anyway the problem is that when i select a category by pressing the green button lets say movies, then press exit to clear the menu, then press the epg to view the movies listing, if i select a channel lets says Sky Scfi Horror it changes to the chosen channel and then select the second item in the epg list which in this case is Sky premiere, the channel changes to On demand previews (channel 100) instead. This problem occurs with any category you select, by selecting the second item in the epg list the channel always changes to On demand previews (channel 100). But
if you select Total list via the red button thenthis does not occur. I am wondering if this ia bug in the 03/01/2011 software or have i done something incorrectly?
I would appreciate it if any of you guys who have updated to the latest 03/01/2011 S/W software check if you also have this problem to see whether it is a software bug and not my setup.

                    Thanks all!

I'd say there is a bug. I have noticed it flips to On Demend Previews from a number of places.

Agreed, I thought it was me, but this has only just started happening since the SW update.

                          kryptview bugs

                          Thanks Guys!

It would be nice if we could some how report these bugs on a forum or whatever so who ever releases the software knows about the bugs and can fix them.
Cause I think the user interface is quite good expecially the category menu which is very useful, the bugs just need ironing out.

If NTL is your prov scan on network & select correct Net-ID for
your area. Correct Prov. & Net-ID can be found in menu of Prov.
box. Channs will be in correct order; BBC1, BBC2,ITV1, etc.
when you scan using correct Prov.& Net-ID
