    freezing/scrambled

    hi,.
I bought my daughter a 780 b4 xmas and wonder if anyone can help ,.
thing is ive updatede firmware to 31/12/11, factory reset ,deleted all channels , but box keeps freezing and channel scrambled message,,,checked all fittings and no splitters, can anyone help what might be causing this.
i was wondering if the cause could be that her bt hub is about 6 meters from box and pluged in with 6 meter ethernet lead . box was doing this before the firmware update ,.,
    thanks for any info help

    ps
    signal about 76-82
    quality about 76-80

did you scan with lan connected?,i would factory reset again then power of at back for 30 secs/on,remove lan and scan correct net id,then plug in lan when channels are loaded then reboot box and router.

latest update...Two things....... it needs to be used on the latest batch and onwards of KV?s as they have new protection chips. The symptom if not used on new ones is that the numbers on the display will roll from pr01 to about pr250 and it will keep cycling. Any box that does that will need the new firmware. Also it has a additional server so it?s a benefit to downloaded for smoother service. Download for present boxes running can be done through the installation menu and then s/w update within mins.

any box scanned you are told to scan without the lan in case something strange happens,so removing it means 1 less problem, you are also told to remove splitters as signal loss wil happen, and also scan on direct feed that includes extensions, from wall to box is best, you are also told a basic sub and a provider is needed to work at its best
other things that get overlooked bad and loose cables
sometimes other outside issues happen also.
its a whole new ball park and nothing is simple

there seems to be a few with the same complaints lately, is it a server problem, does anyone know ?

does look like server overload, they are getting max profit. your 6m cable should not be an issue, but if possible try box at different address, if the same issues occur, not your hub, try on somewhere who has different bb supplier.

Did you try latest update, you can update on box menu s/w update
                            or flash from PC
                            Digital Kaos - Downloads - KV780 03/01/10 Firmware
Fac-reset & make sure to use correct Prov & Net-ID for scan.
Recent reports suggest server overload causing freezing but it
should not be as bad as your situation. You could always try
                            older firmware
                            Digital Kaos - Downloads - Kryptview_A780_18062010.bin
If it doesn't help do a S/W update in box menu.
Be aware downloading on PC will cause box to freeze
