Have a New Krypview A780 Box Needs Flashed Please Help

    Hi
I am new to this Forum/site but have been reading the posts for a couple of days now and have been trying to educate myself.
    Can anybody help please??????

I have a New Krypview A780 Box which I have been told (because it is New) needs Flashed!!!!
I have a strong live feed!!!!!
This is my first box I have never Flashed before all I know is I have to download the most up to date Firmware using a null modem cable (which I have) I know it has to be connected to my box and the back of my modem. Which it alread is!!!!!!!
1/ I would like to know first if I need a special kind of Driver Installed before starting the downloads????
2/ Then where do I get the latest firmware from and I believe I also need some tools????
3/ Then when I download both where do I save them????
4/ Then how do I get them from my PC to my box Via my Null Cable???????
5/ Do I have to pay for any drivers or these downloads????

Sorry its so long but would appreciate any of the questions being answered. Thanks

It did not show any sign that a download was happening or if it had finished as it is only a small file. It did not ask me anything and I never saw any new icons, do you have to register or something I just stayed on the page I was directed to and pressed the download button there, the KV serial number was there????????
Do you need the both of them the Loader and the Bin/Firmware before you can send to your box.?????

Hi there, you open the files in the download tool.
If you are new to this print the instructions and its all in there, it may seem daunting at first but its all in there read carefully and it doesnt take that long.
          Good luck.

If the files you have downloaded are compressed (rar files) you will need to unzip them using winrar or winzip.

              Thanks m8

Yes they were ziped I had to download a program called (stuffItExpander2010exe) it was free and done the trick now got both opened and in the same folder and did a test run last night without being connected to the box just to get used to the program. I am about to ready to flash my box I just need to find out a couple of points.

1/ Because I am using a new box I am using a null cable how will my PC recognise my Box??
(I have read what to do if using a USB adapter) but I am not!!!!!! I have my null cable connected to my box and to the back of my PC!!!!!!!!!!

In Ref: 3 it says connect Com1 - I suppose it could be 2,3 or 4 if I was using my wireless ports in my router!! but mine is as I say into the back of my modem.

Can you or anyone else help please???????

Where it is stated to use comm port 1, 2 or whatever, this is not a port on you router. It is a port number your computer gives for different devices connected.

As your using a PC with a serial port it is most likely (but not guaranteed) that Comm port 1 will be assigned. If not it could be 2 or 3.

Connect the null modem cable to the computer and the box leaving the power switch off. Open the loader ans select Code, Send , browse for the file and open. The comm port usually selects 1 by default. Hit the start icon count 1 2 3 then switch the power on the box. Within three seconds you should see the progress meter. Watch it until you get the message Download Success.

Just shows with a bit of reading and questioning where you have doubts makes the job easy.

You can start by attempting a software update online.

Menu, Instalation, 0000, S/W Update, OK

If you have the lates software it will confirm "Already Updated" if not it will downloa, unzip and flash all by itself.

do you have a minimum tv sub ? did you remove lan when scanning ? you only update when updates are available. and yes leave connected to internet.
