I need help with my KV780 (Read REQ failed)

Hi Everyone I need help with my KV780, I have hit a brick wall. I'm using a USB serial port adaptor and null modem cable to connect my a780 box via Vista, assigned the ports and switched off the box from the back b4 clicking the start button still no luck, when downloading I'm always getting a messaging saying "The downloading is not requested" a message appears above the loading box saying "Read REQ failed". I've been through the forum and no luck. Would appreciate any help!

put box online update s/w you dont need laptop

have you studied hitecks sticky with links for correct set up and drivers,vista and laptops are a pain,good old xp and serial port is the best for flashing with a null modem cable.

Box has to be flashed initially with firmware to get S/W update
in menu on box
