    Thinking of Kryptview need advice

Hi folks i am thinking of buying a Kryptview box as i am led to believe this is one of the only boxes that is able to work on the nagra 3 system. What i am wondering is it just a case of flashing with lastest firmware then connecting to your feed and to a router or is there a bit more to it i.e forwarding ports and stuff

    Any help would be great

    Many Thanks No10Ranger

Not only does it require a router connection it also requires a live cable feed.

Other than this its plain sailing.

Thats it, once scanned away you go.

Where abouts in the country are you?

Glasgow area m8 could you tell me the lastest firmware m8 also does the box connect straight to a router with ethernet cable i.e does it have a ethernet port. And is it correct that the starview 7 does the same

          Cheers

Also make sure when you are scanning the box you are on correct net id, or you will end up missing channels, you can get the correct net id from your subbed box.

Yes cable from router to the back of the box, you also need a live cable feed as well for it to work.

What is a live cable feed? (sorry I'm a bit of a layman when it comes to this) thanks.

live cable feed = VM cable to your house bringing either VM TV or broadband. This is what you connect to the KV box.

                        @ all,
anyone know how to find the correct netid without a subbed box. I'm in a small village in Essex with Broadband only. everything seems to work fine on my KV but i'd like to know anyway. My nearest town is Brentwood (which isnt listed) but i thought from my dbox days that i was on Bromley. though the lists i have seen shows this as 6887 and i KNOW i'm 6952.
                        any help?

Finally Re the starview, i have read that it isnt as reliable as the KV, but does work...

SV7 works alright but has had a lot more problems than KV A780
Regarding NET-ID; if your channels are in correct order BBC1
BBC2 ITV1 etc & you're not missing too many channels you are
using correct ID. If you select N*L as your provider & it shows
list of ID's select 41041 for Bromley & see how you go. If it
doesn't show list of ID's then N*L is wrong provider. The nearest
prov ID to your location is not always the correct one. You may have to try several nearby ID's to get correct one.
