Problem with loading the firmware for A780

    Hi all,

Just a quick word about the software on my Kryptview Box. I've downloaded the stb loader and installed the bin file to the loader but everytime I try to send the software to the box it's telling me software is not requested.

I've checked the com port and its 3 on my lap-top and Ive followed the instructions quite close but to no avail.
My operating software is windows vista.

I've connected the eath-net to the box and even tried to download the data s/w going through the menu installation still, but it keeps coming up saying fail on the box.

Im thinking it may be the Null modem cable because I have 1 male and the other end female that didn't fit my Lap-top until

I bought a adapter to make them both female, so maybe that may be the problem.

        Hi Guys,

I've tried both what you have mentioned above and I am begining to think it is the Null Modem cable.

I went to mapplins yesterday and bought one of the usb loaders but one end wouldn;t fit in to the kv box so the guy who worked there sold me an adapter that was supposed to solve the problem.

It's given me connection from my lap-top to the kv box but Im thinking this maybe the problem because I've tried every remedy but to no avail,

        Thanks for the reply,

both ends of a null modem cable are the same as either end will attach to box and usb adapter, have you not looked at hiteck tut?? all there for you to see whats needed.

            Hi,cactikid,

I've followed the tut and I followed the usb option Im begining to think it could be my fire wall settings.

I've taken the leads back to mapplins and ordered just the 1 lead that goes right from my lap-top, that then goes right to the kv-box,so it's just 1 lead rather than using the adapter.

will keep you posted if Im successful,

            Thanks again,

                Hi Guys

I've got a new lead that goes from my kv box right to my Lap-top now it's telling me that the usb doesen't recognise the device wich is the kv box.

Ive gone into the usb settings and it's telling me code 43 error.
Things seem to be getting worse.
