Interconnect VM box and Kryptview a780

I recieved my new box today and interconnected the old VM box to the kryptview. By this i mean, i connected the coxaxial cable to and from the kryptview box to the VM box. I connected to the internet using another Netgear Wireless router and enabling the Wireless Repeating function on the base station so the box does not have to be connected straight to the modem.

However, i was wondering whether i could interconnect the ethernet slots on the VM box and the Kryptview box, because from what i remember, the older VM boxes had inbuilt modems. I currently have the new V Box (not HD or +).

i think you might have problems with your box by connecting it from your virgin box as your signal will be going thru your virgin box and trying to feed the Krypt, i suggest you split your feed and totally have this separate.

Something like one of the old "season" type cards, maybe research around them will help you.

Hello, i updated the f/w on the box, and finally got it working. I ended up disconnecting the other box anyway, because im going to put that one upstairs and use a splitter at the main box outside the house.

However, before i did that, i did interconnect the boxes and it worked perfectly, both boxes worked at the same time. I interconnected both the ethernet and the coaxial connections.

The wireless works great with the box though - using the wireless repeating function on two Netgear routers. Also as i have a buffalo live linkstation which is connected directly to the router and can be controlled remotely, i dont have to worry about download speeds being affect to heavily.


Just a small question though, am i correct in saying that this box doesnt stream the channel viewings using the internet, but rather uses it to decrypt the channels?
