What you need to take into account but Gaston is starview was found by pure luck m8, it wasnt some big major operation targetted at bringing down the server. Im sure that if they had the right intelligence then they would elect to bring down KV in a heartbeat. On the other end of the spectrum 100s of sat sharing servers have been brought down in the uk over recent times which only goes to show that it is more in sly's interest to stop this than VM's as its mostly their content that is being viewed FOC. And until they get their own shop in order they cant very well pressurize anyone else to do more to protect channels that belong to them.Comment

On the luck side, that's still debatable and speculation - however that is possible. However last year Virgin were bleeding users by the bucketful, for the card swap I dare say the Kudelski group paid since it was their security that was hacked, nor Virgins. However they are again bleeding users due to CS, which they [VM] have to do something about. Logically the next target will be KV with it's 'gift'. If I were a cable user looking at getting cable TV right now I know what I'd go for and it would be any cheap offer for the next 6 months that Virgin had going. No-one can say how long KV will continue, but you get what you pay for and in KV's case it's an FTA box with a 'gift' that can easily turn into a pile of sh*t with the only losers being those that bought a box.My master plan is to live forever..... going to plan so far
Despite the cost of living, it's still very popular.

As it happens they dont make much on the tv side though so if most dodgy box users have basic pack, bb and telephone VM are as happy as a pig in sh!t, why do you think they did very little for many many years prior to this n3changeover.
Sky had been on their case for years and when they secured a lot of american investment the time was right for them to make the transition to N3, which incidently they had to pay for not kudelski. The time seemed right with satellite and cable providers across europe making moves to more secure encryption systems. The investment VM secured was mostly for the provision of on demand services which are not available on the dodgy boxes so their investors wont do much complaining.Comment

The outage may not have been national but only in certain areas and if in one of the areas the uploader was then, it's gonna be down also it could be if the kryptview team found out there was a fault in some areas they may have closed the server and moved the uploader. So even if vm try finding them then there is no uploader there to find. Kryptview have proved over the past 11 months there service has been excellent and 1-2 days down doesn't make difference. My view is that people have not got anything to worry about.Comment
