Starview USB problem - Channels changing on their own

I have an SV USB which last night started to change channels on its own. Today the remote will only work intermitantly. I have an old SV1 and the remote works fine on that so count out the remote.
The box has the new AU patch (1.05 29/11/08) and I have managed to do a factory reset using a combination of the keys on the front of the box and the remote (when working) and done a new scan and all channels are back but still the same problem.

Any ideas whether this is something to do with new firmware or a hardware problem. (i.e. my box is knackerd)?

Update: it has started to change channels really quickly now -could this be somethinge clever from vermin?

mod please close thread - problem sorted

The problem with the channels was the batteries had run down on the dvd remote and started to cause havok with the SV. usb. Had no effect on SV1.
Unfortunately only found this out after loading firmware twice switching boxes in rooms and taking box apart cos something was loose inside. (small piece of plastic).

Anyway laughing now but was sweating for a good bit there. All the hype about the vermin bricking the boxes had me going.

Can moderator please close the thread thanks.
