Don't know which box I have

Been away for a while and seeing as I'm brand new to all this can someone please please answer the following :

1)which fix do I need to download as I don't know what box I have.It just says The Box Super,there are 2 scart leads on the right hand side at the back and the system info menu gives me API ver:6.00e_E,Boot ver 8.0.
2)There is no USB slot on the box so I presume I'll have to attach a cable from PC to box and action SW transfer from menu.

I've been looking at all the forums but there are so many I couldn't scroll through them all and find this info .

If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

the box super is the sv3 and you use the gtrom8.02 loader

you will need a 9 pin null modem serial crossover cable to connect to the box and your pc , and if your pc hasnt got a com port you will also need a usb to serial adapter as well to provide your pc with the required 9 pin com port

the null modem cable must always be used , if you wanted usb loading you would need the box super pvr which is an sv4

Thanks Ramjet , just one more question(for now), I've seen on another thread that you can't use Vista to action this fix , do you know if this is truw?

I never use vista so have no first hand knowledge of it , but you see the same problem come up on satellite and cable forums and its always use xp as the answer

so you can try vista , if it fails try xp , personally I always use xp with no problems with any receivers
