you will all know when Nag3 is rolled out in your area as you will recieve a new viewing card for your original equipment. I cant see them rolling it out without first sending the card as FTA channels will be lost without it and more importantly any which are included in the packages which you have paid for. They have an obligation to provide the services which you have paid for. In short if you get a new viewing card then the starview is dead!

Make sure you have firmware V1.12 (menu > system info) then do a factory reset & then scan with a direct feed > turn keycode back on & set default then all should be ok.

I have the v1.12 firmware and the keycode is on and set as default.

        Still no joy

I have been back reading and looking at other posts but I cant find anything that can help me.

One of my friends told me that europe has had the nagra3 system for 3 years and it still hasn't been hacked. I'm worried this could mean the end of my starview.

its been running on the sat scene for a long time mate and yes hes right

VM have only just started to roll out N3

and soon you will get your new card... it would then mean that u need to Throw that Starview BOX in the BIN

regarding the V1.12 not working could please verify your location as you might be in an N3 area

          regards

Virgin Media has started to send out new smartcards to its TV customers, currently we're sending them to customers in Watford, Seven Kings, Kirklees, Wessex-Poole and Ashford. The new smartcard is easy to swap with the old - find out how at Switching your Smart Card.

The new smartcard is important. It works differently to the old card, and uses newer technology which will form part of a range of exciting new digital TV services from 2010 and onwards, including more HD channels, new TV on demand features and of course we’re also working on integrating TiVo into our TV service too!

Customers in the Watford, Seven Kings, Kirklees, Wessex-Poole and Ashford should have already received their new cards (or will be recieving them soon) and it’s important your old card is swapped out as soon as possible. Over the next few days, in the regions listed, we’ll be turning off some of the older TV signals on our network so if you haven’t swapped the card yet, please do so as soon as you can to ensure an uninterrupted service.

If you are in the Watford, Seven Kings, Kirklees, Wessex-Poole or Ashford areas and think you need a new smartcard please head to Switching your Smart Card and check our frequently asked questions (FAQ).

If you’re not in one of the regions listed, don’t panic, everyone will be getting a new smartcard. We’ll be going around the country region by region as we upgrade our TV service, and we’ll be in touch by post when it’s your turn. In the meantime, don’t worry there won’t be any changes to your TV service until that time.

                      Favourites??

Had the box for a few months now, just need to update with the latest firmware to get back to normal (been busy!), but more importantly, is there a way to sort the channels in to personalised favourites, or am I stuck with what the box decides? I.e. movies, sports etc. The only thing that my old freeview had going for it was the fact that I could hand-select as many or as few channels as I wanted and put them in a separate list for speedier browsing. It looks like the options is almost there but I can not seem to make it do anything!?! Thanks

I have box super UBS, and have lost most of the $ channels. I've been told that the software needs updating. the filmware was 1.07, which i've updated to 1.09, (now i have subtitles) but still no change on the channel front.

can anyhone help ? do i need the 1.12update or is it anything more serious.
