Hi I have Starview 2 box and i can flash the box but still don't get all the channels. I've tried 1570 to get into the secret menu too and it doesn;t do anything!

What did you flash it with? By pressing menu, then 1570 you should get into the CAS menu. If you cannot it usually means its not flashed.

factory reset it , and rescan for channels

Can someone Help? ive deleted factory settings and now cant get parental controls or channel edit have i messed it up? hope someone can help thanks.

try reflashing the firmware on to the box

When you down load the firm wear do you have to put it to disc? because it a bin file? thanks for the help.

Does it mater if you down load the firm wear on vista and then use it on computer that has xp?

Hi Reena

can you press the Menu button and go into the system information and check which software you have on there please.. Once you done that post back here.. because the reason being I ask this is that you think you have flashed the box with the appropriate but in real fact is that your box has not flashed properly and which is why your unable to access the CAS menu.

Which then means you still have the FTA software on there.

Also can you confirm that your able to receive the FTA channels ??

press menu > System Information > and let me know which version you have on there.

I might be right off the track here, but on my box and I am unsure which model mine is(the box PVR) I go to 'Menu' then 'System Setup' 'Parental control'
on this screen press i (info) then 2 0 0 7
this gives me my secret menu
1570 does not work on mine

Setup problem

Hi,

New to the forum and I'd appreciate a bit of help. I had Starview 2 working until yesterday. I attempted to re flash and now am in a situation now where I can only get the main menu.

When i plug the lead into the box the laptop prompts me to install hardware for the box, I just cancelled this????

Anytime I try to re flash it tells me flash failed when tried to run the new firmware or any firmware.

Also the parental control and channel edit options are greyed out on the main menu

Any advice people?
