Will Starview 7 connect to the internet with a USB to LAN converter?

I have a SV7 and i think the RS232 port is knackered as it wont find a network connection. I also have a ddigital duo thast uses a USB to LAN converter instead of a RS232 to LAN.

My question is will the SV 7 box detect a network with a USB to LAN adaptor or is it confirured only to attain a signal through the RS232 port?

i've given it a try, but its still not detecting it, any ideas?

have you got the showmustgoon on the sv6/7 done a fresh scan input 1819 on sly ports,box router and modem may need rebooting

tried all of that mate.even tried another rs232 to lan adaptor. the box doesn't recognise the network connection. also, the router isn't registering that a device is connected. another box that I have seems to be working fine though, so it is leading me to believe that there is something up with the box. it was working fine with the carling software on. is there any way to test the rs232 port on the box?

sorry to change the subject but does any one no where to get a new lan Adapter for the sv7 as my sons hidden it
