Are there different types of sv7's ?

I have an sv7 which currently isn't working despite several efforts from the info off here. Does anybody know if there are different types of these (not including combo's) as a lad I work with reckons it's not a LAN one so it won't work anyway ?

I'll have a go. If it's of any use it has a front panel that is suppose to open up but it was quite tight and not been dropped down so I don't know if there is anything behind it. The manual doesn't say any particular model/make but that it should be connected to a dish to work.

Are you using the LAN adapter that plugs into the RS232 socket?

I have been using the virgin cable via a splitter since before they went off round xmas time. That plus the scart lead are the only wires connected to it.

It's the black box that is on google images but mine came without any wires that you connect the eternet to to put into the back of the box (if that makes sense).

those adapters are very rare and i dont think fleabay will stock the correct one,has your box got a usb socket at rear or just rs232
