    Starview 7 and V*rmin help???

    Hi Guys,

After reading here about the starview 7, i am considering buying one.

Does anyone know where the best place to get one is??

Also, is it true that with the right firmware it will open up v*rmin again??

If so what channels, and a where can i get it?

Does it need to be connected to the internet to work via the LAN connection ??

Finally is the firmware installed in the usual way like my old super USB.... 1570 etc..

Apologies for all the questions, just want to make sure im getting the right box.

    Thanks

    Hi

Plenty of info on the forum. They can recieve vermin channels. Channels are being added to after there recent downtime. If you read around the forum you`l know exactly whats been going on.

You need internet connection for it to work, fleaby or gumtree might be an option to buy one.

New firmware to put on in via usb.

Thanks for all your responses its much appreciated.

Just wanted to confirm that starview 7 is the best receiver to get.

If there is a better one available, could you please let me know and why??

Also could you please give me step by step instructions to set the SV7 up.

Do i need any extra hardware other than the receiver to get it all working.

Again apologies for all the questions but i am a complete newbie to all this.

              Thanks

                  Hi

Is SV7 the best box for cable c/s well that was not the case as it was the Kryptview untill now. Recently the Kv has had problems but are getting back online so up to you which box you want to go for on the cable side.

You may or may not need hardware depending on how you are going to connect the lan of said box, if your router is near your tv and box setup then apart from lan cable you wont need anything but if your router is away from tv setup the you will need hardware like homeplugs etc. unless you run a long lan cable from router.

                    Thanks for this.

So do I connect the lan cable to the back of the SV and then to the back of the router.

Is this done before or after I update firmware to the "showmustgoon" or does it make no difference ??

this may be a silly question but like i said before complete newbie..

                    Thanks for all ur help.
