Starview 6 no picture

Hi there dear members, i have got my starview 6 back up and running thanks to some educational help .I was trying to set some of the settings,i messed about with the picture setting,I was trying to see what the differance in the picture quality was ,when i changed it from PAL to something else,i lost the photo,i do get sound but i cant even get back into the menu to try and reset it,has anyone else did this, is there anyway i can fix it.When i press the menu button it only shows three ---- lights like this. I try to switch to radio and i get the radio but still a blank screen.. i tried using the box with an ariel cable but its the same. Any ideas that i can try..

have you pressed the tv/av button ?

i think if he was messing in settings changed to rgb or other,you should still be able to view menu to revert back

not if hes pressed AV button while messing about you get no picture till you press again ,dont think there is any setting change that will remove picture completly other than AV button

i know how to get the upgade files. my problem is when i switch the starview 6 on it comes up CABLE on the screen i have tried to get into the menu again but it wont do a think .i have tried to press the av button as the members who are trying to help me like your good selve but nothing is working, i know the channel is there as i can hear the sound, its got me baffeled. i do have the file the show must go on i even tryed that but i cant get into the menu to see the screen coming up to boot it up ????????????

tried it mate but still nothing,,its just my luck this would happen when the boxes are starting to work again,,, I SHOULD HAVE LEFT THE THING ALONE,,,

hI ive managed to get it going.i changed the scart leads round. when it is in the TV one it wont show a picture it must be because i changed the video output in the control panel,,there are 3 listed here they are RGB CVBS and S-VHS and a blank space at the bottom i had set this to the blank space by mistake .When i changed the scarts round i get the thing working when its in the VHS scart so lesson learnt .LEAVE IT ALONE

Thats it working again my stupidity i set it to the wrong video output by mistake, ive changed the scart round so its sending it to the tv through the vhs socket to tv. Also when iam here i can tell the members that my STARVIEW 6 Box i bought last Jan 2010 and its still working so its must last for more than a year.Thanks to all the members who asisted

even if the box was dead after a year,the new fle gives you a year from first connection again or unless you break it again
