Updating Starview 2 "The Box"

Hi all, I've been trying to update my starview 2 the box time and time again to no avail, I've tried the new firmware unfortunately it fails.
I'm running windows Vista and using serial port cable tried different com's but nothing working, anything I should know about updating the box?

if it keeps saying d/load failed it is most likely to be a connection problem

use a nother pc with the 9 pin to 9 pin lead. with windows xp. i got my box to update no problems. turn box off at switch. be for you do the update. turn on the box then update box.numbers shood start counting up on box.1-100% downlad complet. good luck.

Agree with Camelv on this one , I'd done dozens of firmware updates , then swapped PC's , it just refused to update , using my old and trusted null modem cable ( flash update Fails Galore .
In desperation , i bought a usb - RS 232 adapter from Ebay ( ?4.99 ) and a bit of tweeling and fiddling later , bingo ! , it's as good as gold now .

I,ve also updated starview THE BOX but I can only do this on my oldest computer for some reason my other one does not recognise the connection. also when you are updating your box it should be in standby mode
