goodbye starview... hello dreambox!

finally bit the bullet and decided to retire my starview combo in favour of a dreambox 800hd (got a very good price for a new version clone). been on the sat side for over 3 months now and i'm pretty tired of not having a working EPG which makes things difficult especially when channel zapping isn't an option due to some strict server rules.
maybe if/when a fix is released for combo i might come back but by then i think i'll probably be a satellite convert once I?ve got some decent hardware/software!
any one else think of making the switch?

Been using my combo on sat side and everything is good not bothered about a fix now as sat is much better.

been using my combo on the sat side now since cable went tits up and i wont be going back if there is a fix -dunno if its justs me but i think the tellybox pic is much better than vermin !!

i still use my combo for international channels in the other room... works well... too many problems with sly using the hd combo... got myself 2x dreambox 800hd's.... it blew my mind away the first time so i had to buy another lool both picking up sly... one for me and one for the kids.

spent $195 which paypal converted to ?122 (including p&p). the guy was recommended off the dreambox section of the forum and seems pretty good so far. they are pretty upto date with new versions of components in the clones. some say the clones are even better than the genuine versions! will have to wait and see on that one though.

the cheapest i could find was ?130 ish

they also get cheaper the more you buy. shame i was only after 1!

the picture is a lot better on the sat side even vermin won't admit it. think i read somewhere that they refuse to release the stats on their HD although i maybe wrong.

a lot of sellers will, but if not, its quite easy to program

if you want easy, and want a very good hd box, look at blade bm7000hd, all done via usb, and online from box.

as easy as a blade is to use... cant compare to the latest DM800. the customizability of it and the endless possibilities just make it fun to use. Although, when i first got mine took me ages to fully understand how it all works and how to work it.

1month on... I've setup web streaming for my mates to watch live matches on a computer and on a mobile. I can watch TV using my android smartphone (really useful when your in the can during a match)... ive flashed so many images and almost broke my box doing so, twice... i might start making images for it in the future (after i do computer science at uni )
