Starview 2 The Box - Problem with updating

Hi All,

I am a newbie and would really appreciate any help I could get. I have had my Starview 2 The Box with about 2 years and never had any problems with it. This morning I turned it on and it says updating but stays at 0% and does not move from that. I have tried restoring factory settings and reinstalling all the programs on it but still the same thing happens. I have also insured that the EMU is turned on.
Maybe I need to get the keymaster and update the keys but if someone could provide me with that and explain to me how that is done would be great.

Any help would really be much appreciated!

I have also tried setting the default key I ment to say but without any luck either. I really appreciate any help please. I am totally lost without it.

Or even if anyone knows someone in the waterford (ireland) area that I could contact who might be able to fix this for me to flash it or something as I do not have the cables to do that

Prob updating Starview 2

Hey I had the same issue yesterday with box just stuck on "data is updating" for ages not getting past 0%. Unplugged everything, tried again same issue. Restored the factory settings and started from scratch, set language, do a full automatic scan, got all the channels and turned on the EMU. Still did the same thing, patience was wearing thin at this point so just unplugged the whole thing and I'd sort it out tomorrow.

I downloaded the new 4.5 software fix and was going to download it onto the box but I'd see if it might work in the morn and hey presto she fired up fine and downloaded updates straight away on Sky Sports 1. Don't know why it worked but I'm delighted, don't know what I'd do without sport channels.

I got it back working woo hoo! Happy Days!!

Sports again, I reset it all again this morning and reinstalled everything and
after that set the default key and turned the EMU on and it updated eventually and all looks good again

I also found that keymaster if ever need it so hopefully should be ok from now on

I've noticed that since the update, when vm roll the codes my box will update and then update again until I change channel. When I change channel after the boxes secong update attempt it all seem to be working fine. I'm more than happy to just to have to change the channel to get it working

Hi all,

I am a proper novice so you may have to bear with me, my box has been updating all day, all i get is the standard channels at the moment. Could someone send me the keys for C&W to make sure I have the correct ones, if these are correct i'll be at a stand still as i do not have the first idea on how to install the firmware on to my box????

Tried to update the box super today and it wouldnt come off scrambled or bad channel, wouldn't even try to update?

What does it say in system info and is your key emu on?

this is after i did a factory reset reinstalled the channels(now the alot of the sky movie channels are missing) and turned the emu on

my mate has the same problem with his star 2 is it a software problem ?

once you apply the fix mate you need to factory reset.

The fix works absoutely fine mate
