      [QUOTE=garyb;104040]hi all

      first post on this forum. i have searched this and other forums but cant find out if it is possible to upload firmware other than by usb stick. i have two sv4 boxes both of which died during firmware installation, one now says 8882 and the other is on the download screen stuck at 8%. is it possible to use a gtrom program from one of the other boxes? or can these boxes be jtagged. any help would be great.

      thanks
      u take out usb when box was on m8?

        [QUOTE=garyb;104047]thanks jok

        i am using v1.05 that i downloaded from the seller of the box. and that is just one file. i am now in the position where i cant do anything unless i can force software onto the box as they are both dead. do you load the BG_LOGO file the same way as the firmware using a usb stick?

        WARNING DO NOT TAKE USB OUT OF BOX WHEN SWITCHED ON brick ya box

          not sure what you are on about basically but your last comment about "not taking usb stick out when switched on" means just that!! do not or you WILL brick it. assume you have done so!!

                i have already got this but it doesn't seem to work on any computer. what i meant was the cables in-between the pc and box preferably someone who has used a usb to serial and any other cables to say where the got them from.

                  be aware there may be 2 different cables ,a serial cable that has got parallel wires and a null modem cable which has a crossover wire for flashing.people get wrong cables and you cant flash with them.
