    8882

JoK, I have problems with my SV4 and you sound like you could help.
I download the required file from 4 shared onto usb , plug it into box and then turn on and start scanning through menu etc. Then I press 1570 and turn on emu. The furthest I have got is setting up channels and changing password etc before it crashes and displays 8882.I am on my third box and my supplier has said that he wont replace anymore as he says the file could be corrupted or the usb could be faulty. I havent set up yet but I need help before I try.

the only suggestion i have is to use the starview box to format your memory stick then put the bin file on it from your pc. dont know if this is what causes the 8882 fault but the first two boxes i flashed failed and i had formatted the stick in my pc and the second two i flashed with no problems after formatting using the starview box. this may be a complete coincidence but worth giving it a try as it takes no longer. i read in a different thread that there may be a fix for the 882 fault, i will have a look for it and post a link later.

once you have 8882 on the starview 4 m8 it normally means your box is bricked ,this has been covered on DK over the last few months since the box came out,if your supplier will exchange the box you may be better getting the starview 3 (genuine) or change to eurovox ex 1000sl or ex5100 ,good luck.
(make sure the box you buy is genuine)

i have found the details about repairing this box if it has the dreaded 8882 fault. the info is on another forum and i am not sure of the protocol on this forum regarding posting of links to other forums so if you pm me i will give you the details.

As can very plainly be seen from the earlier replies to this thread, a SV4 with a 8882 error is useless, unrepairable, and needs to be replaced.

It can be jtagged but the supplier is the only one with the exact info on this. Send it back and it will be replaced. Its caused by a bad flash and the suppliers are aware of the problem.

Your supplier's sold you a faulty box and they are being routinely replaced.
If he won't replace it then let us know who it is so we can avoid him in future.

Sorry to hear that mate, best to avoid ebayers. I always use online stores hopefully there'll be a way round this error soon.
