if the box has a 3 pin converter on the plug then i would suggest that you take it off mate and plug the 2 pin in directly into the wall


check the fuse on the plug

and make sure its switched on from the back

open the box up and check the capicitors mate

if you see any leakage or anything the most likely one of your caps has blown off mate

this can be solved via buying a cap from maplins and soldering it on


Once you done that mate.. let us know and hopefully some 1 here should be able to tell you which you need.

probably the power board inside the box has blown.

i've experienced similar on starview 1.

So you've checked the fuse, switched on at the back, checked the power board.

Hmmm... You'll probably need an electrical test device to check if power is coming in. Have you tried connecting on another wall socket? Could be that the wall socket has become faulty perhaps.

Thank u 4 da suport, yes i gt a screw driver which is also a test device, the power is goin in the box, but its nt powering it up, yes i tryed at other socket board, but it still not workin. any other options?

Hmm, sorry mate I'm out of ideas. Looks like an electrical prob if no lights are coming on/powering up. If it was powering up and nothing showed then it could've been assumed that it's to do with the software.

Having said that have you tried flashing it? Is it able to download the image to the box?

If you attempt to flash it make sure you are using the correct version for your box (i.e. SV1,SV2, etc. and ginuine or clone).

Really hope this works for you. Let me know how you get on...

Thank for another advice, no its nt the software problem, the light doesnt cum on at all. Anyway i gave it 2 repair nw, its goin 2 cost me ?30

Could u tell me which software i sould upload, i gt SV1 bt dont know if it is Ginuine or Clone.

Have you opened the box and seen if there is a fuse on the board?
If so it may have gone.

Hi , is it a stareview 1 ? , how old is it ? , did it just power down in front of you , or did it refuse to power up after being unused for a while ?
The reason for the questions , is i've 3 starview 1's (plus a broken one for spares) , my oldest is 5yrs now , and as they get older they can be prone to blow capacitors on the power board .
If all your efforts so far have failed , unplug it , take the 3 screws from the rear , remove the top cover and take a look at the tops of the capacitors , one or two may show signs of burning / discolouration and in the worst cases , the tops blow off them !

Hay guys thanx 4 da advice,
I have SV1, i dnt know hw old it is, all i did is turned it off nd then i presses the middle power button in da front to power it on, but it didnt , i changed the fuse in the power plug but it' still nt working, i opened the box and theres no sign of burn or anything and also there is no fuse inside the box. After i get it back from repair ill let you guys know wot was wrong with the box. And for mor info i have Starview 1 Ginuine.
