They are freely available from any reputable electronics supplier.
Think they are called rs232-LAN connectors. Problem is STAVU
assign each connector to box mac address, so connectors are not
transferrable. I was told this some months ago by an "expert" on
another site. Never had a chance to check different leads on diff
boxes as we don't use STAVU in Eire any more, thank god.
If you contact official STAVU website you should be able to order replacement connector if you e-mail them mac address of box. They usually ask for "damaged" connector to be returned
before replacement is sent. I think they fear you might use the
connector on older box & devise software to connect to internet
This would prove new boxes were not needed just new fix for
    SV4 & SV5 boxes.
Your "friend" may not really be your friend. Unless "friend" lives
in Belfast I would park outside "friend's" house & tell them you
will wait until connector has been found.

Have one here in my junk box of fittings that I never use. Problem is how do you install drivers on STAVU box. Bank hol here to-morrow so will have a look at it early mornin'. Am sure
connector needs drivers for it to operate. No problem installing
drivers on PC. How to transfer drivers to STAVU box is the thing.
I haven't messed with STAVU box for about 4 years now. I stick
to Dream & D-box, only occasionally flash STVU or KRYPTVU box
for people. Cactikid would be able to shed some light on connector suitability. I imagine if you got exact replica of STAVU
connector from same supplier it would work on box as drivers are installed on box already.
If anyone had 2 STAVU 7 boxes & swopped connectors to see if boxes work. Would be good if some helpful member could post
picture of connector & details of any name or code nos. Then you might be able to source same connector on Maplins or similar site. I'm sure you won't be last member to "lose" or damage a connector so would be useful to know if replacement can be got on open market. STAVU are not renowned for after-sales service. Would be nice twist if "friend" posted pic of your
          connector, Nicole

people were trying alsorts of connectors and failed=no connection

skywonder do sell the adapter and if needed the connecting cable,if your friend does not give back the bit ,send her the invoice for replacement.i have not heard any body switching adapters on 2 boxes and not working scenario so i cant answer that.

Sorry Cacti, wasn't being cheeky. I posted before I read P.M.
Did I not tell Nicole you would know the solution. Didn't realise
Pritz carried connectors as I tried for them some time ago & he
                didn't have them

Unfortunately even if you get a dongle it would not work on Sv4/5 boxes, different chipset, and different manufacturer, also the code written to the chip would also need to be changed, and as the source code is closed sourced it will never work.

I agree, brain, I would not be able to connect SV4/5 to network
But closed source is only closed until someone clever enough or
someone with insider knowledge hacks into it.
