Dont buy one, well not yet anyway, everyone thats got a new sv 7 box is not working at the moment so i would wait, same with kv box i would wait or better still go to sat side as not just 1 server on sat side so if 1 goes down then theres alot more but on cable side only have 1 server so if it down then your box is no good

erm, the starview 7's are working fine, how long they will last is a risk you take when you buy 1. i bought mine a few months ago, they went off a week later and are now back on, it took a few weeks tho, so patience is a must, i believe the hd combos are still off.

if your budget will allow you, go sat and get a "Blade HD 7000s" ?149 just for the HD box with free to air channels, then you can get a sub which will get you all encrypted channels from sly (apart from box office). You get all HD channels, all movie channels, all sports channels including setanta for satday live footy matches. You can get sub from ?10 a month. and the quality of the blade box is the best, in terms of picture quality, and the hd channels are better quality than the actual sly boxes.

Box works with your existing sly dish, and all you need is internet connection from your router to box via ethernet.

better going sat side and forget about starview, all the new boxes dont work at the moment and after a couple of months none of them will at all.

if you go sat and your sub provider got busted, then you can easily get new sub from different provider, but you box will still work, just usernames n passwords that you configure on box, 2mins job.

no sky sub needed, just get sky mini dish fitted, dm500s for about 50 to 60 quid, and a server and off you go, its not that hard to do, really simple.
