I know this flashes if they are downloadinig but not all the time.As soon as I take the starview 4 box off and reconnect, the modem light on the original V*****box stops. help is needed please has I am wary about using the staview 4 box.

Thanks for your reply........but was wondering why does the modem light on the v***** box only flash when the stv4 is connected. It does it all the time not just occasionally. I take the sv4 and the splitter off and the modem light stops.

Would it be possible for me to feed the stv4 box from the broadband cable instead of the tv cable?

      Thank you

there is no broadband cable and tv cable

all there is would be an omnibox with maybe a splitter inside , or a straight through connection to an internal splitter , the cables are the usual satellite and cable coaxial cables and only that type should be used ( do not use tv coaxial cable for this , use satellite cable like ct100 or similar )

you wont be able to use tv coaxial feeds for this , only satellite or cable coax

and any item can connect anywhere after the splitter , so there would be no difference which of the cables has the modem or the v_box or the sv4
