Installation problems on starview 4

hi all just installed the starview 4 and done a full scan got loads of channels but i cant view most of them, as they ave tis symbol next to them $ is there anything i can do to remove this? or perhaps do another scan? or has anyone got a step by step guide i can use to install it.or any general help wud be gud.

1) Install latest firmware from this site

2) Press Menu then 1570

3) Turn keycode on and the exit out to Ski Sports and let the box update

do i need to install firmware as its a brand new set i only opened it yesterday, also tried menu 1570 but nothing happens.any more suggestions?

you should check the firmware listed in the menu but if I were you I would do exactly as you were told in previous posts and threads , including post 2

the only difference is I would recommend you find and use the latest v1.07 firmware for the box super usb dated 23 dec 2008 and not the earlier v1.06

v1.07 dated 23 dec 2008!! WTF!!!!

I have looked in all theusual places and cannot find any trace of this new version.

Any pointers please?

press menu and find a system info and press that and check the api number , its that simple on most of these starviews so I cannot see this usb one being any different

read the manual would be another idea

as for this new firmware , it is out there on other forums and I assume will be put on here too when a fileguy or mod or admin gets round to it
just because you cannot find it doesnt mean its not available , and no I wont put links to it

there were 3 issued today for the sv2 , sv3 super and the sv4 super usb models , all dated 23 dec 2008

looks like its got the old v1.03 firmware on it so you need to do as previously advised and upgrade to the new v1.07 from today

ok cheers ill need to get a usb memory stick can i use any or does there ave to be a certain size memory on it for me to use?

you can probably use any but something like 0.5 to 1 gig should be fine , just make sure you reformat it in fat32 before using it on your receiver

use explorer on your pc and chose format from the right click menu , then select fat32 and not fat , and then hit start

for pc issues use a pc forum as learning to use a pc is helpful to anyone in this game , or buy windws for dummies and read it

Starview 4 Problems?

Hi this is my first reply to a thread.

i have been experiencing the same problems as this guy this $ sign next to every channel and cant get rid of em have installed firmware version 1.02 beta then rescanned and it still doesn't work.

I have also taken lock off and on using code 1570 in the menu screen and this makes no difference to me. so please if any1 can help will carry on reading this guys posts tho.
