how do u open 1.07 for sv 4

hi , i ve found and tried to download the new firm ware 1.07 for the usb starview 4,tried openin it with winrar but says file is either corrupted or format unknown...have tried savin download to usb and same thing happens ...would be very grateful if anyone out there could help me ....bigfella

Do not attemtp to flash your box with a corrupted file m8, or you will have a very expensive paper weight, ( or a brick ).
Where are you downloading it from ?

im downloading it from the link from downloads from this site ....the only thing i can think is i ve deleted something from my c drive when i was deleteing corrupted winrar files ...i recently had the interval hehehe virus on my lappy from downloading winrar maybe i ll post this on the computer threads or if theres anyone out there can help on here i would be very grateful

M8 you are trying to open the bin file with winrar, no need to open it with anything, put the bin file on your usb stick and flash it.

thanks dell .much appreciated m8 ..as you can probably tell i m a bit of a newbie with comps /lappys only had one for about 5 months now but also willin and wantin to to learn...... did wat u said put onstick and reflashed ..checked system setup then system information and it s coming up 1.07 and everything seems to be workin fine... so thanks a lot for your help it s much appreciated and hope u have a goodun at xmas...bigfella


ps so does that mean bin files cant or dont need to be opened with winrar? cos im sure i opened previous files with winrar before doawnloading them

ideally use winrar on files ending in rar , winzip for files ending in zip , and use nothing for files ending in bin or exe
