Silver FTA 101

Hi
Hope you all had a good christmas.
I need info about how to update firmware on FTA 101.
I have just input the new keys and box is working fine but thought i would check system info this is what it reads
Sw ver-1.00e Boot Ver 7.0. 14th june 2005.


1st, Do i need a rs232 lead and is it ok to use USB 2.0 to RS232 Cable

2nd , What 3rd party software do i use to upload firmware from laptop to receiver and were do i get software from
