    Starview 7 and VM

I am really sorry if this has been asked a million times but i could not find the exact information that i am after..

i understand that getting a sv7 box requires the cables from vm but do i need a Current and Running virgin media subscription to get the complete channel list.

i have got broadband via BT and the installation (i.e box outside and coaxials inside) from virgin media but i am not using VM so have no Subscription.

    many thanks

your vm cable needs to be live and not disconnected out side ie. in manhole if its ok then connect to your box and you can use bt broadband make sure you got latest update installed on box and activated

if the vm feed is currently live you will get about 17 fta channels on it , so check that first , then as long as they dont send somebody to cut off your feed in the cabinet or omnibox it will work , having a vm subscription of some kind will ensure it doesnt get cut off

as for sv , you pay them for access to the scrambled channels , not vm , and you assumptions seem correct

its always a good idea to get a vm subscription and your something back as well

Hi all, If you have a live basic VM subscription and broadband, can you get the channels with only the net connected to the box, or do you have to split the cable and run it in. Really I want to just use my LAN.

no box needs a cable feed and lan feed to work, all new boxes are the same.
