The Box Super problem - please help.

davey try turning on and off at the back of the box just before flashing......if u can get to the menu..goto systems setup...goto system infro ...this shud tell wat firmware has been flashed to ur box ,,if any,,,,if ok do a factory reset n turn on emu....hope this helps bigfella

Mate it wont even let me get past the box screen. The front of the box goes blank and wont respond to the remote or the buttons on the box.

davey try wat jok said first if it doesnt work then...check to see if u have a geniune starview ...there s loads of clones out there.....if u check past threads shud provide u with a link to check wat u ve got..........thinks its called,,,,,,,,,,,, attack of the clones,copy n paste attack of the clones starview.........bigfella
another problem with flashin these boxes is makin sure u have the right cable to flash with..look thro previous threads on infro on null modem cable and also u cud gogggle it ...hope this helps ...bigfella

Have tried flashing it with the previous firmware and it still does the same thing - once the flash is complete it says boot, then Ld80 then goes blank and unresponsive again.

Really frustrated!! Any other ideas - the box is genuine btw.

How do I download the bin file to the box??

before it says boot turn on and off at the back of the box....check null modem cable u want the cross threaded one

do the same as 3rd reply on the first page on this thread for downloading the bin file

obviously ur box is not flashin....check null modem is the correct one.....check all cables ,scart etc r in correct....is virgin feed to house ok?

There is nothing on the box until I turn the switch off and on. If I leave the switch on it displays nothing. I have to turn off then on and press download when it says boot.

when you open the gtrom loader, you have a screen saying the box super

down in the left hand corner you have a download button

just above that you have a App File Only make sure this is checked

then press the download button, and wait, on comp screen there will be a % loader bar, let this get to end, it will then say something like CMD sending, but still wait, about 20 secs, then it will say download complete or something like that

now you have sent the bin file to the sv3

It says flash burning, then the box LCD says F.L_E then F.L_r then the Computer says Download Complete then the box reboots, says boot, Ld80 then goes off again.

Virgin feed is fine. Everything is connected correctly. I think Im just going to ring the people I bought it off, tell them Im coming down with a crap box and want it swapping.

its a clone as its from china.

I bit the bullet, took my box back and swapped it for a eurovox. Up and runnin in 10 mins. Superb.

sorry m 8 we cudnt get u up n runnin with the starview ....it s probably a gamble with all these boxes...luck of the draw really tho with sv 4 usb ..its a little easier cos it s downloaded straight onto a usb stick ...no need for null modem cable and com ports ......but glad to hear u ve got sorted in the end !!!!

got the same problem running 4.03 logo file on 8-02e and its ok untill you power it off at the mains you then have to load the logo file again
