Starview 1 Original - No response to Rem Control

Hi,

I have an original SV1 which won't respond to a remote control so here is what I tried without success but if there is anything else I can try then please let me know:-

1 Tried new batteries, another known working remote no luck
2 Opened up the box checked all the internals for signs of damage but none detected
3 Replaced the front panel with one from a working unit, in case the RC receiver unit was faulty but still no luck.
4 The uit has been flashed with the latest firmware but I can't go to system menu. It receives all the free channels, the front display and all the buttons work fine.

So for this box to scan and open all I need the remote control to go into the menu system.
Is there a way to get to the system menu from the buttons on the front of the box?
Is there anthing else I should do to get this box working again?
Any help will be appreciated.

maybe try go backwards on flashing to see if it is a corrupt file that is giving u problems.

to see if its the remote get a digital camara or your phone if it has a camara on it, press a button on the remote control wilest shining the remote into your cammera look on the camara scren or your mobile screen, you should then see the remote light up if it does light up then its your box if it dont light up then its the remote

sorry just noticed you said you have tried a known working remote anyway keep this in mind might come in handy some day

I have going back to older firmware but still no joy. Still thanks for help and suggestions. I would hate to use it as a door stopper feeling it still has some life left in it.
