what is a cloned box

can any one tell me what people mean when they say cloned box

it just means its a copy of a original box a bit like when they copy like a branded name of clothes they are not quite as good as the real thing

if you have a clone and intend to flash it make sure you have right firmware

does anybody by any chance know what the differences r between a real and a clone? How would u be able to spot a clone?

Go to google images and search for starview clones , you'll see loads of genuine and clone boxes.
Better to open it and check the heatsink on it, genuine and clones are totally different

usually the info shown is for sv1 models but have not seen updates for sv2 sv3 and maybe sv4usb? if u buy sv2 or sv3 u will be buying a clone,and now a new black one

A clone is the name given to a box that is a copy of the original...
They are not Starview originals and are produced in Asia somewhere I think...
They will work ok with the firmware that has been installed in them by the clone manufacturer - When the firmware needs updated however you have to make sure you don't update the clone box with the firmware of an original or you may damage it permanently...
Look through this site and you will find links - with pictures of the differences between the clone and the original box...
