Signal Strength as in none

on my Box pvr in manual search there is no signal yet i've got a ddigital box that is working fine on the same aeriel. anyone have any ideas?? i know the obvious thing would be the 'ant in' on the box itself is dodgy but i don't see why, it ain't been thrown or kicked.....yet.
