    Dreambox 800hd Vs SV7

Hi guys, i currently have a sv7 but getting sick of missing channels and goin down so considering getting a `Dreambox 800hd Cable` is this more reliable and as is it as easy to set up ?

or what is the best most reliable box

If you can go down the sat route mate it will be a lot more advantageous..............

all boxes now rely on servers so the box tends to be irrelevant as the problems are almost always with the servers

unclear how you would get a server that will feed you vm cable codes to a dm800HD cable box , so I would say its going to be very difficult , or impossible , to get scrambled cable channels working on a dreambox

you only have sv6 , sv7 , krypt a780 and a krypt a750 + iconnect to choose from , so 2 on 1 server and 2 on the other server , and neither give you all channels either

as mentioned in the last post , the choices are better on satellite , but you still have to sort out your own server

Use the Dm800c as your server/client, there are plenty of people doing so with a bit of knowledge.

Truth be told all that info is here and across numerous forums. It requires a bit of work to amalgamate it and a friend here or there that may help along the way but "free TV" is always going to get in the way of a hobby. Especially with traders involved now.

I can assure you that a DM800c is quite a nice box and well suited to cable CS as you would expect it to be. Large commercial set ups I cannot speak about. But all have seen how they pan out.

I agree as I have the same box but with a sat tuner inside it

I am sure its as good on cable , but I believe the OP may think its a lot easier to obtain a server than we would say , so although I am sure they are out there I know of none and I doubt that the OP knows of any either

but once sorted I am sure its the best cable solution

No the best cable solution is a subbed one

I have seen combi sat/cable solutions using what has been posting across many forums. I know Sat offers more but a combi offers that bit more.

The OP should note the difference between closed and open source and maybe then they will see the benefit. If they want plug n play "Free TV" they are stuck with KV or SV.

100% agree with you there on all counts , I wasnt considering the subbed route in my answers as I didnt think they needed to know that its definitely the best solution , I was thinking of 3rd party solutions as asked in post 1

too often they thing of it as "free tv" when you end up paying one way or another , so I always consider it as pay per view , no matter which box you have. and not everybody has a vm feed in their street which tends to preclude you from going down this cable route somewhat LOL

its a shame more people dont consider all the options before posting , as we never know their skillset levels when it comes to open source boxes , or closed source boxes

most think you just patch and forget like the old days !

It's better not to have a VM feed coming into your house if you are setting up a cable server On the client side, yes you need one.

OK that's as far as I am going or I will have to issue myself with an infraction

the good thing with the 800 is you could change the tuner to a sat if oyu get stuck

there are servers out there for vm and it isnt too difficult to set one up yourself, google my friends
