I have been given an older dish 80CM with a Grundig LNB possibly the old analogue style like this http://www.earf.co.uk/grundig.JPG 9.75Ghz

Can't seem to pick up and channels when pointing to Astra 28.3e can anyone help?

The box is a SV HD Combo is there a certain setting I need to add?

change the lnb to a standard modern universal lnb , typically a fiver off auction sites , and choose universal lnb in the settings

nope , the quality would have to be 40 or higher , same as a spiderbox , and typically about 80 sig and similar quality

if its the old type analogue lnb its the wrong type

as I said , fit a modern universal lnb , and the settings for the lnb are 9750 / 10600 with 22 khz tone switching

the dish will be ok , assuming its pointed at the correct satellites at 28.2 east

any old analogue sly dish is pointed at astra 1 at 19.2 east , not 28 east

tune the box in on any working sly dish , then use the dish + new lnb and find 28.2 east , and lock it up
