Hi guys, newbie here so please excuse my ignorance, i have just been given a starview box to try on my v/m line, i have been told i just have to put in new numbers to access the progs. i have flashed eurovox b4 so do i just do the same with starview box, any help to any links would be grateful and how to do it cheers.

Hi mate, theres plenty of guides on this forum of how to flash boxes of all kinds but you need to find out what model your starview is and weather it's a genuine starview or a clone you must be careful of this because you could end up bricking the box.Sometimes a slow gradual approach does more good than a large gesture. -

Well tbh mate i'm not sure exactly how to identify your particular box and im not sure about how to manually input codes on a starview cos ive never had to do it but im sure you will be able to find out if you look round the forum mate. starviews are up to 4 at the moment so you could try an image search on google... ie . starview 1 then starview 2, etc etc. And im not sure how to identify clones but i can tell you that starview 4 has a usb slot in the back for f/w updates so it may not be that one.Sometimes a slow gradual approach does more good than a large gesture.Comment

thats the link to the firmware you need mate. You need to connect the box to your pc using a null modem cable then use the file in the link provided to flash your boxSometimes a slow gradual approach does more good than a large gesture.Comment

1. Plug starview in at the mains;
2. Plug in null modem cable and join up box with
PC using COM port on PC (there is only one socket for
this on the starview you cant go wrong);
3. Open up GTRom loader or whatever sofwtare you have
for loading image on the box.
4. Click on "BIN File" on GTRom and load the
Auto update BIN File file that you have
(which I assume you have downloaded from here).
5. Now click download button and you sill se the
file being downloaded.
6. Once complete a mssage will apppears saying
something like "download successful".
7.Ideally you should try and get a bin file channel
list for your area and load this as well it will save a lot of time.
8. Alterantively, plug box in and press Menu on
remote, installation, choose your cable provider,
then move don to automatic scan and press ok.
9. Once all channels have been found press exit back to TV screen.
10. Now press menu, parental control, press ok.
Now press i then 2004. Move down to Key Emu and change option
to on. Press ok , then exit back to TV Screen.
11. Go to scrambled channel and wait on keys updating.
12 That should be you.
13. Details how to sort favourites etc is in the manual.
Get a Bin c=image for your area though and this will

yeah first of all ..start your own thread dont hi jac others
.......second look in the download sction of this site for the lastest firmware for your box and flash it ...hope this helps ..bigfella
