make sure u set time n date on menu as well.....there seems to be a problem with the epg on the starview 4 but lets face it ///its a small price to pay . hopefully when new firmware cum s out ,someone may ahve sorted it ..... bigfella
Lets not forget that the firmware is still in beta yet too but having said that all the f/w released so far for it has been beta, But like Bigfella says it's a small price to pay.
Sometimes a slow gradual approach does more good than a large gesture.
Personally I disagree, if they relaese a new box it should have fully working firmware available, not constant releases of beta firmware. I find it extremely annoying. To me it ruins what should be a fantastic box.
I agree the f/w releases have all been beta so far, But I have very few issues with the starview. Granted, there are a couple of issues but they're not so bad that they can't be overlooked. Still a top box imo.

Too right mate. We're several months down the line now and still struggling with beta software. Poor show.
just buy a tv guide like we had to in the good old days and wait for the issue to resolved you get all them channels for a small price and still complain chill out

I dont have any issues with the EPG, it may need a reboot to populate fully now and then no big deal. Go back to the days of the SV1 and then remember how bad it was.
And I have no affinity to any box type as I use quite a few.
BTW who said 1.07 was still Beta?
@Tony you dont like Starviews and yet you have one?
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer. - Douglas Adams
Thank you Satsmo at last!! I also own different types of boxes, I have no issues with the sv4. By the way another forum member earlier today mentioned that sv's and ev's and others like these would be rendered door stops when the encryption changes. I believe it to be a case of "if and when"
Do you know if theres any truth in this? If the encryption does change will the boxes be rendered useless or will some kind of f/w be able to tackle this?

Who said I don't like them mate?
What I can't understand is the fact that people seem to think that the guys that make and sell boxes are doing us a favour.
They're providing a service like any other, and I am sure are VERY well paid for it. And good luck to them.
Why is it such a crime to point out that aspects could be better?
And does it take a leap of imagination to think people that work for the box makers populate these forums?
