    Starview 3 - Picture & Sound disruption

    Hi

I've recently moved address and plugged in my starview 3 which worked fine. The past fews days however, the picture and sound are being disrupted, not constant but often enough to irritate and make it a nuisance to use. Green squares on screen, screechhing noises, box reboots at random.

Has anyone experienced similar problems? Is there a cure for this annoying problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    Mosiki.

Have you tried doing a factory reset from the menu and then rescaning the box.
Make sure you turn the emu back on from the secret menu.
What version of firmware is on the box? It should be 8.02 or 8.04. you can check this from the menu

Tried the factory reset already but not helping any. Whats the big difference between versions ?

also check yer cable connection....make sure you have a good connection...some peeps tend to cut the gold wire and foil...when this needs folding back making sure none is left connecting with the central main core..(As you would on conventional ariel cable)

The 8.02 and 8.04 updates enable the box to decode key rolls....but that would be illegal wouldn't it??

Thanks for replies lads, all good now. I had the wall input cable linked to the wrong side of the 3-way adaptor for splitting the connection into 2 legs, sorted now, so simple yet so annoying
