i have a box super which wont download the api ver 8.02,on system info it says api ver 8.00e boot ver 8.0 20 june2008,any1 shed any light on this as i need fix getting fed up putting the keys inn all the time!!!

First of all make sure you have the latest firmware on the box. Should be 8.04
You check this from the menu - System setup/System information
If you haven?t got 8.04 you can download from the sticky threads.
Plug you Box into your Pc and switch it on. Click on the 8.04 file .When gt rom appears select download.(usually on com 1) Wait till it has fully 100% downloaded.
Once you have flashed the new firmware go into the menu and do a factory reset.
Rescan the box choosing your local cable provider.(N*L etc) Choose english-autoscan
Once the channels have saved, exit out 3 times.
Press menu and then 1570 you will go into another secret menu.
Highlight the default key and press ok.
Then scroll down to the emu and turn it on.
Exit out and put your box onto a S*y sp1
Wait for it to update. This may take a while.
You should be now all up and running

am using the 9pin cable,will the 8.04 brick my box if its a clone?cheers

you are taking a chance flashing any clone box with genuine firmware al,but sometimes you get lucky and it works .
