starview 2 issues!

Hi guys,

I have recently decided to start using a second starview 2 box that has been sitting in the box brand new for quite a while.
After attempting to flash this box it has decided to no longer work at all and the front display doesn't come on either. Bit confused as to why this has happened any ideas will be much appreciated.

I take it you have switched it on at the back of the box? You could try replacing the plug but unlikely its that. Was it working when you first got it or is this the first time you have even plugged it in? I ask as you say "no longer works".

I have just a had a similar thing happen with a mates SV2 The Box, where his PSU started playing up (but the box would start most of the time), so he bought a new PSU and I fitted it, now it won't power up at all but all voltages on the PSU (except 23V) are present. I read somewhere that the 23V is not required for SV1 & SV2's. I also read that you can JTAG a SV2 but after doing some searching I could only find info on JTAGGING a SV1 or SV Clone.

Strangely enough it seems to be fine now, I had switched it on before but obviously only recieved free to air channels. It was only after trying to flash that it temporarily stopped working. V strange!!

I have been fiddling with the SV2 and managed to get it working. Looks like its a dodgy motherboard. When it gets warm it seems to work ok.
