Starview 2 The Box - Does it have groups/bouquets?

I flashed a friends box with the firmware 4.57.

He tells me that although all the channels work, there are no longer any groups such as MOVIES,KIDS,SPORT etc...

I know you can have favourites but he informed me that he had these groups as well as favourites before the flash.

Any idea how I can get these groups back?

Wasnt aware that the box autosorts into categories like the arnet, digivox and some eurovoxes. is he sure? Dont have one mind . From memory i had thought that the box retained its channels after flashing. did you factory reset or erase them?

The only way you could get his box on the same basis as before was if you had uploaded his channel list to your pc before flashing. then you could flash them back to the newly updated box.

that is exactly what I did. I took a copy of the channels and downloaded them back to the box. Now he has no favs or groups.

I'm just wondering if the groups can be re-created manually or if a certain firmware is needed to to support them...

mate if you copied his cdf file and then reloaded them then he must have the same set up as before. you can manually create them no problems although it might take about 20 minutes.

what area are you in? if you are ex tw scotland i have a cdf which i could send you.

Hi, the channel file I backed up from the box was a bin file. It didn't give an option to create a cdf file. Maybe that is where I went wrong

Thanks for the offer but it's an ex NTL Lincolnshire area the channels were for.
