can any 1 shine a light always had my sv 7 connect same way with spliter through bb etc but recently i have upgraded to 20mb where before i was on 10 so if anything id expect it to run better but if i am downloading anything at all the box just frezez up and stays froze till i click of my downloads its never happened before any 1 any ideas's

see if a reboot of box and router may clear the problem,if not it may be a bandwidth problem -
If you're downloading through torrents, it's most likely that your upload is saturated. Go into the torrent client and set a limit on your upload speed to no more than 75% of the quoted upload speed of your connection.Comment

my d/l is 2.2 mb/s and my upload is around 25 kb/s
does this sound worng mate to you like i said if i take the torrent cleint of every thing works fineComment

right mate i have managed to change the upload speed to around 1.1kb/s and its still the same but its definatly something to do with that u torrent like you said any other ideas cheersComment

are you hard wired or wireless check speed wilst downloading on some other system also starview only requires a few hundred kb/s so there might be a preferrance issue but at twenty mbs there shouldnt be a prob my utorrent only interferes if im streaming iplayer never had a problem with starview.Comment

I don't use Torrents so couldn't say how to limit it, I would think there would be a bandwidth limit in the settings somewhere. If the upload is 25kb (k bits), that should be OK, 25kB (k Bytes) is higher.
I can tell you that from my understanding of the way Cable modems work, upload is very important. Basically, every packet you download has to be acknowledged with an upload, if that upload is delayed due to capacity limits then the next download packet doesn't happen.Comment
